Rules and Disclaimer

We want this weekend to be enjoyable, creative and productive for everyone. It is so unfortunate to have a weekend ruined for everybody due to the actions of just one person. We have seen this happen in our many years of conference/camp/retreat/event participation and don’t want it happening here.

We have a few event rules that will help keep things running smoothly and make the weekend fun for all. With so many people sharing space, it’s the little things that count, please chip in where possible and be sure to let a Staff Member know if something needs attention.

Conference Rules:

  • No Drugs or Smoking (Smoking permitted outside, 25 feet from building entrances/doors)

  • No perfume / incense / scented lotions / body products / stinky stuff. Many in attendance have allergies that are easily aggravated. Henna and essential oils will be strongly scenting the air for the entire weekend and that should keep the noses busy.

  • Citrus Sealant should be applied OUTSIDE

  • Remove henna carefully. It stains carpet, bedding and upholstery, be cautious of hotel furniture.

  • Throw out all your trash and try to keep your area tidy, please. Henna can get pretty messy.

  • No hennaing on the Hotel Lounge pillows!

  • No outside henna paste or other materials due to safety and liability issues.

  • Instructors are not henna vending machines. Give ‘em break if they look tired, please.

  • It’s a team effort at Caravanland ~ be sure to let a Staff Member know if something needs attention.

  • No Video Taping class lectures/No posting to Social Media of proprietary images and information from classes/resource book. If you take photos/video during the weekend please respect Intellectual Copyright Law and do not post photos of proprietary material to social media. This means don't take a ton of photos of a teachers lecture materials and post them, don't video their lectures, don't take photos of the resource book to post. This violates copyright law and is unfair to the instructors to have their information/research spread around for free. Photos and video outside of lectures/workshops is permitted and encouraged!

Photographs will be taken throughout the duration of the event and may be used for promotional purposes, advertising, website, print media, social media, etc. Ownership of photos is retained by Henna Con / Henna Caravan.

To protect the great atmosphere that is Henna Con, here’s the bottom line:
We reserve the right to ask any attendee to leave the event , without refund, at any point if we determine that person is disrupting the conference experience and guests. This may include rude or abusive behavior, being sick or contagious, using or possessing illegal drugs, theft, bullying, or being generally disruptive or disrespectful of staff, instructors, attendees, the group environment or hotel guests or staff.
That said, we’re looking forward to a fun-filled weekend with lots of henna, silliness, new skills and new friends.

See you in October!

Flavia and Jessica McQueen
